Giovanna Gil Alves is a Uruguayan visual artist with Spanish roots, working across painting, drawing, illustration, and ceramics. Her practice is deeply intuitive and emotion-driven, using art as a way to translate inner experiences into visual form. Her work is autobiographical, shaped by memory, everyday moments, and the subtleties of human feeling. Through color, texture, and material, she creates compositions that prioritize emotional resonance over narrative explanation. Inspired by nature and the quiet details of life, Giovanna’s work invites a direct, personal connection — encouraging viewers to experience each piece instinctively, before interpreting it intellectually.
