Privacy Policy

OnOff Tiles LLC · Last updated July 25, 2026

At OnOff Tiles, transparency is important to us, both in how we operate and how we handle the information we collect from visitors. This policy explains how and why we collect, process, and use personal data and cookies, as well as your rights and our responsibilities to you. Our goal is to ensure you have the best experience while feeling confident about how your data is handled. This policy will evolve as necessary, and any significant changes will be communicated clearly.

Personal Data Controller

OnOff Tiles is responsible for managing the personal data on this website. We are committed to ensuring that:

  • You are informed about why and how we collect your personal information.
  • You can make active choices to approve or deny the processing and storage of your personal data.
  • You can update your information at any time.
  • You have the right to request that your information be deleted or “forgotten” from our system.
  • We will provide you with all the personal information we store about you if requested.
  • You can request that your data be exported for use elsewhere, such as when switching to a different service provider.
  • Your personal data is securely stored, and we will never share it with third parties without your explicit consent, unless required by law.

Personal Information and Cookies

Personal information includes any data that can identify you personally, such as your name, address, email, and other contact details. Additionally, cookies are small files sent to your computer when you visit our website, allowing us to understand your browsing behavior and customize your experience.

Why Does OnOff Tiles Store Your Personal Information and Use Cookies?

1. Necessary Functionality: Certain cookies are essential for our website to function, such as keeping track of items in your shopping cart.

2. Analytics: We use cookies to analyze site performance and understand how our customers use the site, helping us improve your experience.

3. Enhanced Experience: Some cookies remember your preferences (e.g., country and language settings) to ensure a smoother and faster browsing experience.

4. Marketing: Cookies also help us deliver relevant marketing and advertisements. If you provide your email address while browsing, cookies may link it to your browsing data, allowing us to tailor content and ads to your interests. You can choose to disable or delete cookies via your browser settings, though this may affect site functionality.

How We Use the Information We Collect

We collect personal information during the purchasing process to:

  • Handle your order and delivery, including notifications and delivery status.
  • Verify identity and age when necessary.
  • Process payments securely through our third-party provider.
  • Address complaints, returns, or warranty issues.

The categories of personal data we collect include: Name; Contact information (e.g., address, email, and phone number); Purchase history; Payment information.

Uploaded Images & Content (“Upload Your Own”)

When you use our “Upload Your Own” service, you provide us with image files. We treat those images with particular care:

  • What we store. We store your original uploaded image (the master file used for printing) and reduced-size copies (a web preview and a thumbnail) used to show you the product and your order history.
  • How we use it. We use your uploaded images solely to render previews, produce your printed tile(s), fulfill your order, and provide after-sale service (such as reprints or a re-order of the same photo). We do not use your uploaded images for advertising or marketing, or share them publicly, without your separate, explicit permission.
  • Location & EXIF data. We remove embedded GPS/location and other EXIF metadata from your images during processing, so location data is not stored or displayed.
  • Service providers. To print and ship your order, your image and order details are shared with the service providers who fulfill it (for example our print/RIP software and production partner and the shipping carrier), under confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and used only to complete your order.
  • Retention & deletion. If you have an account, your uploaded images are kept so you can re-order or swap art without re-uploading. You can delete any uploaded image (and its derivatives) from your account at any time, and we will remove it from active storage. Images uploaded but never ordered may be purged after a period of inactivity. Note that we may retain minimal order records as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes.
  • Your responsibility. You are responsible for having the rights to the images you upload. See the Upload Your Own terms for details.

Analytics and Advertising Partners

We use a small number of named third-party services to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. Each one is listed below with what it actually receives. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your name, address or payment details with any of them.

  • Google Analytics 4: Records which pages you view, which pieces you look at, what you add to your cart, and when an order is completed. It receives the product names and prices involved and the order number, and it sets cookies in your browser to recognise a return visit. It does not receive your name, email address or payment details.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): Receives the same four actions so we can measure whether an advertisement led to a sale and so we can build audiences for future advertising. When you complete an order we also send Meta a one-way scrambled version of your email address (a SHA-256 hash) so it can match the sale to an advertisement you may have seen. The scrambled value cannot be turned back into your address by us or by Meta.
  • TikTok: The same four actions, for the same reason, with the same one-way scrambled email address on a completed order.
  • Vercel Analytics: Counts page views and traffic sources for the site as a whole. It is privacy-focused by design, does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites.
  • Session management: Our own cookies keep you signed in and keep track of the items in your cart. These are essential to the site working and are not shared with anyone.

How people use the site. On our own servers, we record where visitors tap and how far they scroll on our pages, so we can find the parts that are hard to use. Each page view is stored anonymously: no name, email address, IP address or cookie, and nothing you type. We do not share it with anyone. We do not collect it from visitors in California, or from any browser sending a Global Privacy Control signal.

Where this applies. OnOff Tiles sells in the United States and Canada. In those regions we operate on an opt-out basis, which is what the law allows: the services above are active when you arrive, and this policy is your notice of them. You can turn them off at any time using your browser settings, an ad blocker, or the “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control settings your browser may offer. Turning them off does not affect your ability to browse, order or use your account. If we begin selling into the United Kingdom or the European Union, we will ask for your consent before any of these services load, rather than after.

Managing cookies. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and every one of the services above can be blocked that way. Blocking the essential session cookies in the last item will stop the cart and sign-in from working; blocking the others will not.

Third-Party Information Sharing

We do not sell or trade your personal data. However, your information may be shared with third-party providers under strict agreements to ensure data protection. For example, payment data may be shared with our payment processor, Stripe, for secure transactions, and images/order details are shared with our fulfillment partners to produce and ship your order.

Google Customer Reviews. After you order, Google may show you a box asking whether you would like to take part in its customer review survey. If you say yes, Google receives your email address, your order number and the expected delivery date so it can email you the survey, and your answers are handled under Google’s own privacy policy. If you say no, nothing is sent to Google.

Your Rights

As a visitor or customer, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: You may request access to the personal data we store about you.
  • Right to Correct: You may update or correct your information at any time.
  • Right to Delete: You can request the deletion of your personal data (and uploaded images) unless it is required for us to complete a transaction or comply with legal obligations.
  • Right to Opt-Out: You can opt out of marketing communications by adjusting your preferences or clicking “unsubscribe” in our emails.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access or disclosure. While we strive to ensure full security, no system is entirely foolproof, so we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your information.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we discover that we have inadvertently gathered personal data from a child, we will promptly delete it.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as necessary to reflect changes in our practices or comply with new regulations. Any significant changes will be communicated to you via our website.
