Kay Shanley's work intertwines vibrant colours, intricate details, and metallic highlights to create emotive pieces that celebrate resilience, beauty, and the connection between humans and nature. She primarily focuses on female portraits, botanicals, and birds, drawing inspiration from Tasmania’s stunning landscapes and her childhood in England’s countryside. Kay work in both oils and watercolours, balancing precise detail with expressive techniques. Her oil paintings explore depth and texture, while the watercolour pieces embrace simplicity and charm. Influenced by Art Nouveau, her paintings often feature themes of growth and renewal, symbolised through flowers, birds, and natural motifs. Kay's goal is to create art that resonates deeply with collectors, offering moments of inspiration and connection through every brushstroke.
